Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was crazy busy, but well worth it.
On Sunday I stopped by the “Cosplay in America” book event at Royal T (the maid cafe inspired cafe/art gallery in Culver City). The event was to celebrate the release of photographer Ejen Chuang’s collection of American cosplayers from various conventions. Some of the cosplayers featured in the photo collection were in attendance and guests were encouraged to cosplay as well. As you can see from the photos, there were all sorts of cosplayers in attendance taking pictures, looking at the displays and having a great time!
The music was provided by my friends from Tune in Tokyo! They put on a monthly event at 2nd street jazz by the same name, spinning the best of j-pop, j-rock, and global dance music. They were also at the LA Weekend event at the Saban Theatre and featured in LA Weekly this week! Here’s DJ Tora holding it down on the 1s and 2s…
Royal T is probably one of my favorite spots in LA. Art gallery, vinyl toys, good food, good tea, and maid cafe what more can I ask for. Oh yes, and wi-fi available (^_^)
